But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:40-42

1. What are some things that distract you from pursuing Jesus? Surrender these distractions to Him.
2. Pray against every distraction that shifts your focus away from Him.
3. Commit to making God a priority in your daily life.

 

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for Your grace and mercies that are new every morning. Amidst life’s busyness and distractions, I recognize that it is important to wait on You. Help me to be still before You and turn away from all distractions. I want to be found in Your presence and hear from You daily. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
