Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” Luke 9:23-24

 

Prayer Pointers:

1. Are there things in your life that you are holding on to that might prevent you from following Jesus fully (e.g. personal ambitions and comfort)? Consecrate areas that you have held back from Him.
2. Pray for your desires to align to His.
3. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance as you commit to pursuing His will every day.

 

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, I thank You for Your ultimate sacrifice on the cross. As You surrendered Your rights for me, I choose today to yield myself to You. I commit to letting go of my pride and desires so that I can follow after You and seek what You have in store for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
