Registration for physical and online classes for Life in the Word (LIW), School for Christian Growth (SCG) and Family Life Seminars for the 3rd quarter will run from 4th to 18th June.

In-person classes run at 9am and 12pm on Sundays beginning 2 July to 17 September.

Level 3 Courses will be in-person at 9am and 12pm in classrooms across our regional locations.

Romans and Galatians (In-person at regional location, 9am)

Romans and Galatians are the two letters written by Paul to ensure that believers will have the knowledge and legacy of the one true Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Romans, Paul deduced systematically the fact of man’s sinfulness. It is only in Christ and what He did on the Cross that man can receive forgiveness of sin and be reconciled to God. Paul wrote Galatians because of the threat of a dangerous heresy taught by the “Judaizers”, who insisted that Gentiles had to be circumcised before they could become Christians. For Paul, this was a repudiation of the truth that man’s salvation is by faith and not by works of the law. As with all Paul’s letters, the great doctrinal truths taught are then applied to practical Christian living.

Faith and the Supernatural (In-person at regional location, 12pm)

Based on the Book of Acts, the student will be introduced to the work of the Holy Spirit in empowering the apostles and believers in the Early Church to fulfil Christ’s Great Commission. We will see how their faith resulted in supernatural signs and wonders enabling them to overcome internal difficulties and external persecution, so that the proclaiming of the Gospel “to the ends of the earth” could go on unhindered. The lives and ministries of Peter, Stephen (the first Christian martyr), Paul and others will be used to illustrate our study on this subject. With this background, the student will receive a proper context to exercise faith and the supernatural in our present times.

*Gifts of the Holy Spirit (YouTube)
*Please note that this is a hybrid class. (9 lessons via YT & 3 lessons via Zoom on 23/7, 20/8 and 17/9 at 2pm).

Paul’s admonition to the Corinthian Christians when he said “Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant” also applies to us. There is no reason why we should go through our Christian life not understanding the gifts of the Holy Spirit. In this course, a balanced Biblical perspective of the “charismata” – the powerful yet gracious gifts of the Holy Spirit – will be presented.

The following will be covered:

  • What the gifts of the Holy Spirit are
  • How each gift operates in the church
  • Why the gifts are so important and relevant to us today

*The Christian Family (YouTube)
*Please note that this is a hybrid class. (9 lessons via YT & 3 lessons via Zoom on 23/7, 20/8 and 17/9 at 2pm).

The family as an institution is under tremendous pressure. Every day, we receive news reports about the challenges that marriages face, the increasingly complex problems our children go through such as drug addiction, sexual immorality, teenage gangs and unfulfilled relationships. What better way to understand how to build a family than to return to the plans of its Designer?

This course seeks to impart a Biblical understanding of the family as the institution that God has designed it to be. It shares important principles on the roles of the husband/father, wife/mother and children and their relationships with one another from the Word of God.

Pauline Epistles (YouTube)

This course is a survey of the epistles written by the Apostle Paul to the churches he founded and worked with. Several books will be highlighted for analytical and expository study in terms of structure and content. You will learn to identify and study themes in each epistle which deal with the local church.

Practics of Counselling (Youtube)

“Practics of Counselling” builds on the previous courses on “Principles of Counselling” and “Process of Counselling.” More specifically, it will equip the counsellor to deal with the lack of spiritual assurance as well as the struggle with sin which all Christians face. It will empower the counsellor to deal with negative emotions such as anxiety, fear, failure and discouragement. Challenging situations such as persecution, sickness, death and suicide will be covered. Marital counselling and its related aspects such as divorce counselling will also be dealt with in this course. This course is a must for anyone who desires to help individuals and families with the practical problems and issues they face.

Theology (YouTube)

This course seeks to introduce you to the subject of theology — the study of God and the things associated with God and His work in creation. A broad-based approach will be taken to survey the main subjects, including:

  • The Bible — its origin, nature and its supernatural character
  • God — His existence, His nature and attributes
  • Sin — its origin, cause and effect
  • Salvation — its purpose and the means by which it is accomplished

The outcome we seek in studying theology is to equip believers with the knowledge of their faith so that they are able “to give a defence to everyone who asks them a reason for the hope that is in them” (1 Peter 3:15). We do this by ensuring that we have an understanding and a working knowledge of the main tenets of the Christian faith and the assurance of our identity as children of God.

Pentateuch (YouTube)

The Pentateuch represents the first major section of the Old Testament and the Bible as a whole. It begins with the creation of the heavens and the earth, and of man. It ends with the formation of a new nation with the people of God poised and ready to enter the Promised Land. The student will receive an overview of the place, plan and purpose of the Pentateuch within the overall context of the Old and New Testaments. This course explores the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy and presents the outline of each book, its main message and major themes.

Life of Timothy (YouTube)

This is a study on the life of Timothy, whom Paul referred to as a “true son in the faith” while Timothy regarded Paul as his “father in the faith”. The course will examine the traits that Timothy developed in the course of his ministry to Paul – a servant heart, selflessness, faithfulness and a willingness to face hardship and persecution. From his life, we can draw important lessons on what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ and how we can make a real contribution to the cause of Christ through our willingness to be a servant to those whom God has placed around and over us.

Life of David (YouTube)

This course will equip students with principles of leadership from the study of the life of David. His early training as a shepherd caring for his father’s sheep, had laid a foundation of faithfulness, commitment and courage. Leaders must be tested before they can be released fully into their God-given roles. From David’s life, students will learn how a leader should respond to and overcome hatred, jealousy, fear, insecurity, pride and selfish ambition. The ultimate test of leadership is that of sin and failure. How a leader handles these will either disqualify or qualify him for greatness in God’s kingdom. Out of David’s sin of adultery and murder and his subsequent repentance and brokenness, the Lord brought him to the place where he truly had “a heart after God’s own heart”.

Lives of the Apostles (YouTube)

In this study, we will consider the lives of the apostles, with attention to James, Andrew, Philip, and Thomas and special attention to Peter, John and Paul. You will be encouraged to know that most of the apostles who started out with Jesus were men of average intellect, mostly poor and illiterate, many with character flaws and lacking the ingredients the world thinks are necessary for success and leadership. Yet they overcame their weaknesses and personal failures to become the pillars of the Church. Through their examples, you will realise that no matter what your position in life may be, God has the power to transform you into someone who will impact society for good and advance the cause of His kingdom.

On the Cutting Edge (YouTube)

How do we ensure that we are fit as athletes, know the rules by which we should run this race, and surely win the prize at the end of it all? Thankfully, God has provided us with Biblical truths that will build our spiritual strength and stamina when we exercise our faith through His Word. To be on the cutting edge let us begin to train ourselves in the truths that will build us up spiritually.

Topics in this course include:

  • The Key of David which releases you from darkness, fear and failure
  • The Persevering Truth to keep focus and prevent burnout
  • The Sabbath Principle to keep us in reverence of God
  • The Guiding Truth of Spiritual Authority for direction
  • The Inspiring Truth from the Spirit of Prophecy for encouragement
  • The Successful Truth in seeking true prosperity

At the end of this course, you will be encouraged to press on, fight the good fight, finish the race and keep the faith (2 Timothy).

Living The Balanced Life (YouTube)

What is a balanced Christian life? Can we have too much of a good thing? Our God is most balanced. He is love and He is light. Our Lord Jesus is full of grace and full of truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom as well as revelation. God’s word is the perfect equilibrium of divine truth.

Human nature however is prone to emphasize one side to the exclusion of the other side of truth. This has caused much confusion and many problems among God’s people.

This course is for Christians who wants to balance truth and walk a well-rounded Christian walk as God has ordained.

This quarter, the Family Life Ministry is offering a School for Christian Growth class on Parenting. Each of the following 3 classes lasts for 6 weeks and they all take place at 2pm.

1. Parenting Infants (from pregnancy to 2 years of age):

You will learn principles and skills to set routines that will bring normalcy to you and your young child. When you are able to establish routines for your child in their formative years, a good foundation will be established for their subsequent nurturing years. 2. Parenting Children (3 to 7 years of age): You will learn the importance of establishing good parenting and relationship principles in this phase of your parenting.
