Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. Romans 6:16-18

 

Prayer Pointers:

1. Repent for giving control to areas of sin or personal struggles in your life. Declare freedom over it.
2. Pray for boldness to share your struggles with a friend or leader you can trust.
3. Being set free requires us to walk a holy lifestyle to maintain our freedom. Consecrate your life to holiness, purity, and righteousness.

 

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for the freedom that You purchased for me on the cross. Today, I declare that I am not controlled by my desires, but by the Spirit of God that brings freedom. I recognise that You will continue to transform me to be more like You; I keep my heart open to Your work. Help to use my freedom to serve others willingly and joyfully. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
